King Kamehameha's Awesome Athlete's Inclusive Canoe Race
The King Kamehameha’s Awesome Athletes Inclusive Canoe Race is a partnership between The Arc of Hilo, OSMD Hawaii (Operation Sammy Muscular Dystrophy), and inclusive canoe club ‘Ohana Wa’a Laulima, with a shared vision to host a safe and inclusive paddling event here in Hilo Bay that welcomes individuals with disabilities to participate in a culturally and historically significant sporting activity.
Join us for the 2024 race on Sunday June 2, 2024. Click here for detailed information and to reserve your seat.
ʻOhana Waʻa Laulima was formed to give individuals with disabilities equal opportunity to learn and experience the sport and tradition of paddling.
Our mission is to give people of all abilities a connection to the ocean and Hawaiian culture by providing a safe environment where they can be on the water and learn about the ocean and what it can provide.
