ʻOhana Waʻa Laulima was formed to give individuals with disabilities equal opportunity to learn and experience the sport and tradition of paddling.
Our mission is to give people of all abilities a connection to the ocean and Hawaiian culture by providing a safe environment where they can be on the water and learn about the ocean and what it can provide.
King Kamehameha's Awesome Athlete's Inclusive Canoe Race
On June 12, 2022, 'Ohana Wa'a Laulima partnered with the Arc of Hilo and OSMD Hawai'i to host the first annual and only inclusive canoe race specifically for individuals with disabilities.
Over 50 Athletes with disabilities and over a hundred volunteers came together to show that canoe paddling can be a sport for everyone.
